An honest comparison
Apps to meet other dads.
Peanut is built mainly for moms, and most friend apps aren't built around kids or a dad's schedule. Dads who want to meet other dads usually use a mix: Dadurday (dads nearby with kids the same age who are free when you are; Houston Bay Area for now), Bumble For Friends for general friendship, Meetup for interest groups, Facebook groups and Nextdoor for local chatter, and in-person groups like a church men's group or F3.
The options, side by side
Written by the people who make Dadurday, so weigh it accordingly. We've kept the others to what's true of them in general, as of October 2026. Features change, so check each one yourself.
| Option | Built for | Kids' ages and free time | How you meet | Where it works |

| Bumble For Friends | Adults looking for friends | Not built around kids or schedules | Profiles and chat | Many cities |

| Facebook groups | Local parents and neighbors | Depends on the group | Posts and comments, sometimes events | Almost anywhere |
| Nextdoor | Your neighborhood | No | Neighborhood posts | Your neighborhood |
| Church men's groups, F3 | Men, in person | No, but a regular time and place | In person, on a set schedule | Wherever there's a local group |
What each one is good for
Peanut
A well-known app for meeting other moms, and for women more broadly. If your wife is looking for mom friends, it's a natural pick. It isn't aimed at dads.
Bumble For Friends
Bumble's app for making friends rather than dating. Good if you want friends of any kind. It doesn't know about your kids or your shifts, so finding dads at your stage takes more sorting.
Meetup
Interest groups that hold events: hiking, board games, running, sometimes dads' groups. Great when there's an active group near you; how active varies a lot from city to city.
Facebook groups
Most towns have local parent groups. They're useful for recommendations and events, and they tend to be mostly moms. Dad-only groups exist in some places.
Nextdoor
Your actual neighbors, which is a real plus. It's built for neighborhood news and recommendations, not for matching you with another dad.
Church men's groups and F3
In person, every week, same guys. That's the formula that works. F3 runs free, peer-led outdoor workouts for men, usually early in the morning; many churches have a men's group or breakfast.
Where Dadurday is different
- Matched on kids' ages and free time. You say your kids' ages and when you're usually off, weekday mornings, weeknights, weekends or "It changes week to week", and you see what you have in common with each dad.
- Only dads nearby. Dads near you, shown with a rough distance and a neighborhood, never an address.
- Hangouts with private spots. Dads host small hangouts. Everyone sees the area and who's going; the exact spot goes only to the dads who are in.
- Free, with no ads. No ads, no paid tier, no sponsors, and your data isn't for sale.
And where it isn't there yet: it's iPhone only for now (Android is on the way), it's only open around Clear Lake, League City and Webster, Texas, and it's new, so the first crew there is still forming.

Questions
Is there an app like Peanut for dads?
Yes, that's what Dadurday is for. Peanut is built mainly for moms. Dadurday is built for dads with kids at home: it matches you with dads nearby on your kids' ages and the time you're actually free, and it's about meeting in person, not scrolling. It's launching in Clear Lake, League City and Webster, Texas.
Is Bumble For Friends good for dads?
It can be. It's a general friendship app, so you'll meet adults of every kind, not specifically dads at your stage. If you want dads with kids the same age who are free when you are, a dad-specific app or your kids' activities will usually get you there faster.
What's the best way to meet other dads?
Repetition: the same dads at the same place, more than once. Your kids' activities and a standing playground coffee are the classics. An app helps with the hard part, finding dads nearby at the same stage who are free when you are.
Is Dadurday available outside Houston?
Not yet. It opens one area at a time, starting with Clear Lake, League City and Webster in the Houston Bay Area. Somewhere else? Join the list on the home page, or install it on iPhone and wait in line inside the app.
Is Dadurday a dating app?
No. It's for dads to make friends with other dads. There are no dating features, and joining means agreeing to no selling and no recruiting.
