Dadurday helps dads with young kids find friends nearby. It is free, has no ads and no sponsors, and we never sell your data. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your Apple or Google sign-in. We receive an account identifier from Apple or Google and, if you share it, your name and email. We do not see your password.
- Your profile. Your first name, your kids' age ranges, the answers and interests you add, and when you're usually free.
- Your rough location. We use your phone's location to place you in a coarse area so we can show dads near you. Other members see an approximate distance, never your exact location or address.
- Photos you add to your profile, posts, or chats.
- Messages and posts you send in chats, groups, and the community feed, and the hangouts and Saturday plans you make.
- Reports and blocks you make or receive, and moderation decisions about your account.
- Device and usage basics such as your push notification token, app version, and time zone, so the app works and we can fix problems.
We do not collect biometrics, contacts, or precise background location, and we do not verify your identity.
How we use it
- To run the app: show you to nearby dads, deliver messages, and send the notifications you turn on.
- To keep members safe: review reports, screen photos and text for abuse or selling, and enforce bans.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app and this website are used, so we can improve them.
We never sell or rent your data, and we never use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We run Dadurday on our own server. A few services handle specific parts of it:
- Apple and Google, to sign you in.
- Expo push notifications, with Apple and Google, to deliver notifications to your phone.
- An image and text moderation provider (to be named here before launch), to flag abusive content and selling for human review.
- Self-hosted Umami analytics on this website, which counts visits without cookies or personal profiles.
Who can see what
Other members see your profile, photos, and the approximate distance to you. Only the people in a chat see its messages. Moderators can see reported content and the context needed to review it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. Deletion removes your profile, photos, location, and sign-in link, and signs you out everywhere. Messages you sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to, shown without your name. If an account was banned, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the sign-in so the same person can't simply sign up again.
Age
Dadurday is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
